Project Name & Code: Climate Smart Agriculture and Livestock (CSAL) –

Scope of Work:

  • Develop a cadre of KrishiDoots per village to run the agricultural work on the ground.
  • Implement an agricultural Programme under the guidance of reporting officers.
  • Lessen the input costs for farmers by employing recommended PoP for Kharif/Rabi crops in Vidarbha.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer to farmers for cultivation Kharif/Rabi crops in Vidarbha.
  • Impart training to farmers, village level workers towards the efficient use of ICM technologies for Cotton, Soybean, and red gram.
  • Conduct various exposure visits to relevant places for farmers, village levels workers, staff of implementing agencies, and staff of agricultural institutes.
  • Develop village level information centers as agricultural knowledge dissemination centers with relevant material for the village.
  • Enhance the area under cultivation or number of cropping by increasing the in-situ water & moisture content of soil by employing various Soil and Water Conservation techniques in the area.
  • Standardize the cultivation practices across the region.
  • Diversify the existing cropping practices by introducing high-value crops, seed production techniques, fodder development, and kitchen gardens/vegetable cultivation.
  • Initiate and accomplish tasks which will strengthen the agribusiness capacity of the Programme and act as a common resource for all the partners.
  • Organizing marketing-related training, exposure visits, and capacity building workshops for the team members and Programme partners.
  • Undertake value chain analysis for all major agricultural produce like cotton, soybean, tur, orange, grams, lemon, wheat, maize, and sorghum grown in the area.
  • Organize workshops and seminars on marketing involving buyers to explore linkages with them.
  • Assist the Producer Companies and implementing agencies in undertaking market linkages.
  • Ensure documentation of Programme activities.
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested by the seniors and Reporting Manager/Officer.
  • Facilitate visits of external stakeholders, including donors and central teams.
  • Participate in any other activities which may be required to be undertaken to fulfill the objectives of the project and organization.
  • Should collect data ensuring high data quality and integrity.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify grants that match the objectives of the organization.
    • Develop proposals, Concept Note, RFI for matching grants.
    • Coordinate and Review proposals with various stakeholders – project team; Legal & Compliance team.
    • Work with respective project teams to understand and elicit implementation plan, metrics to be measured, outputs, outcomes, impact budget, budget narrative and resource allocation.
    • Oversee preparation of grant proposals, conduct a final review of proposals, and ensure timely submission along with follow-through.
    • Maintain an accurate record of past and present grant opportunities, deadlines, grant MOUs and proposals.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Sewa Project teams and Foundations
    • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
    • Work cross-departmentally with Amin, HR and Finance teams to collate relevant information as needed and required.

Required Skills:
• Graduate with 5+ years’ experience, self-driven, smart, patient
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good command of written English and attention to detail
• Experience in writing business proposals, concept notes and budgeting projects.
• Ability to articulate well and write compelling grant narratives based on raw inputs received
• Quick learner, and able to work with minimum supervision
• Flexible to work during all US time zones.

Good to have experience:
• Prior experience in grant writing; working with granting agencies including the US government.
• Exposure to US work culture and experience in working with government grants.
